Stockings

25rs

Pattern for stockings made out of double crochet.

Yarn
1rs

I used yarn from Nille, Strømpegarn = yarn for stockings. For stockings i prefer to use yarn that has 20 – 40 percent acrylic and 60 – 80 perscent wool, then it won’t felt when you wash the stockings.

  • Hook 4 mm

Sizes

  • 35-37: 40 stitches
  • 38-41: 48 stitches
  • 42-45: 52 stitches

I name the sizes like this: (35-37), (38-41), 42-45. Measure your foot for the right length.

Abbreviation

  • ch: chain stitches
  • dc: double crochet
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • r: round
  • st: stitch

3rs

6. round

  • For size  38-41 increase:

Chain 3=1 dc, 4 dc, 2 in next st. *5 dc, 2 in next st*, repeat from * to *. Increase 1 extra dc in the end of the round to get 48 st. Fasten round with sl st. Go to «Ribbed cuff» or go to 7. round for size 41-45.

7. round

For size 42-45, increase to 52 st.

Ribbed cuff

Continue to crohet with dc. If you like, you can use the same technique as used in ribbed cuffs on top of foot: For this technique crochet 2 dc in front of the dc in previous round, and then 2 dc in back of the dc in previous round. Look at the pictures how tom make a front post dc and back post dc, but do not skip stitches like I did in the pictures – these pictures are from another project. Use dc for the stockings, not treble crochet as used on the project in the pictures.
